Sally Wood, Founder and Chief Wordsmith
Sally Wood is a successful business owner and entrepreneur. She’s an experienced marketing strategist, copywriter, corporate comms expert and former PR darling. And she’s also a museum frequenting, theatre-mad, novelist— and a board member of the Historical Novel Society of Australasia.
Sally has spent 20 years taking big ideas, technical concepts and complex commercial problems and turning them into clear and engaging written communications and marketing programs.
She founded Wordly in 2014, where she’s delivered successful client projects including the end-to-end management of magazines, websites and marketing collateral. Sally has also worked with industry associations / SMEs as a highly-regarded expert consultant on everything from media releases to social media content to editorial commentary for CEOs.
And she’s done all this while growing Wordly into the successful agency that it is today.
Sally’s dual background in arts and engineering/construction means she’s never short of a new perspective, a different take or a fresh idea for Wordly’s clients. And her deep and diverse experience means her unique ideas and solutions aren’t just novel, but practical and effective, too.
Before Wordly, Sally’s professional roles ranged from high-level corporate and stakeholder communications to media liaison to crisis comms to social media to strategic planning to event management to marketing to public relations and more, making her well-versed in just about every aspect of message delivery.
And somehow, in the midst of all that, Sal also managed to complete a Bachelor of Law, a Bachelor of Arts, and a Postgraduate Bachelor of Letters in Journalism and Public Relations. She even has a historical novel on the go!
As Chief Wordsmith, Sally brings a bottomless energy, enthusiasm and dedication to leading the Wordly team, taking care of its clients and delivering the best outcomes, every day.
